What Are The Components Of LoadRunner?

“LoadRunner” is the most well-known name in performance testing. Loadrunner supports a wide range of protocols, covering practically every software platform. It has a long history that may be pointless to explore here, but you should be aware of it as a performance tester. In this blog, we have discussed the components of LoadRunner; join LoadRunner Training In Chennai at FITA Academy to know more about the LoadRunner.

LoadRunner Components

The following components are included with Micro Focus LoadRunner:

1)Virtual user generator

It captures end-user business processes and generates a programming language-based automated test script. ‘VuGen Script’ or ‘Test Script’ is the name given to the created script.

2)Load Generator

These are the computers that produce the virtual load as needed. During test execution, the Controller assigns a load generator to each Vuser in the scenario. The load generator is also used to replicate the users’ geographical location.

3)Controller

The load test is organised, driven, managed, and monitored by it. A controller is also used to model workload. Workload modelling entails creating a test scenario based on NFR (Non-Functional Requirement).

For example, 50 online users should generate 2 requests per second load on the server during the stress test.

At least one Controller is required to do a performance test. Without LG, a controller can create a load up to a specific limit (depending on the Controller’s hardware setup). Another purpose of a controller is to provide commands to the Load Generators via Agent during test execution.

Which script should be chosen?

When and how much load must be generated?

When should the test be terminated? Etc.

4)Agent

The LoadRunner agent establishes contact between the Controller and the Load Generator.

5)Analysis

It is beneficial to examine, deconstruct, and compare the findings of the load tests. The analysis tool presents graphs and statistics of the test results to check them against the defined NFRs (non-functional requirements) and to identify the bottleneck (performance problems). Based on the test results, the analysis tool generates a report.

Thus the component of LoadRunner is the Virtual user generator, Load generator, controller, Agent and Analysis. To know about the components, join Loadrunner Training Online.
